ESPN has established a projection in which Mike Stoops and the Arizona Wildcats will either go to the Holiday Bowl, yet again, and possibly take on Texas A&M, or go to the Alamo Bowl and take on brother Bob and Oklahoma.

Both are big 12 teams.

Hopefully the Wildcats will have better success than their last bowl match up against a big 12 team. I’m sure everyone in Tucson still remembers Nebraska.

If Arizona were to play Texas A&M, then the game should be an aerial dog fight. the Aggies’ passing attack is ranked 11th in the FBS while the Wildcats are ranked 10th. Arizona also allows an average of 18 points per game, Texas A&M averages 30 points a game. though the Aggies have won five straight to get them into this position, the game would be an exciting and winnable one for the Wildcats.

If Arizona were to play Oklahoma it would be a more exciting match up for both the fans and the two teams. Coach Mike Stoops of the Wildcats is the brother of coach Bob Stoops of the Sooners. Oklahoma’s passing attack is ranked fourth in the FBS and is riding the rocket arm of a future NFL quarterback, Landry Jones. This game might not end well for Mike Stoops’ team, but it would be great fun to watch.

Right now the Wildcats are third in the Pac-10, with first place Oregon likely going to the National Championship and second place Stanford going to the Rose Bowl. This leaves Arizona with the Holiday Bowl against Texas A&M. but remember Arizona fans, things can change by the time the Wildcats prepare for the Duel in the Desert.
